Just finished belting and mounting my tires. I belted with standard duct tape nothing fancy because i didn't want to spend 11 bucks for gorilla tape.
Did a no load test and the tires don't balloon at all, but i am wondering if using gorilla tape would have been a better choice. Thoughts? |

| I used gorilla tape only because I didn't have duct tape, other than weight I dont think there would be a difference in performance. |

I have belted 4 sets of mt tires. All with Duct tape.
The key is to heat the tape after you belt the tires.
It makes it extra sticky.
Also it helps to do two exact layers stoping the second layer exactly where the first layer started.
I use 2 inch wide duct tape. |

I use gorilla tape cause its stickier, but I did t pay $11 I think I paid around $5 or 6.
Wrapped my new wheels twice and ran them with no ballooning At all. The truck is very stable at high speed now |

so im assuming taping 2 strips wont unbalance the tires?
i taped some 2.8 trenchers for my stampede 4x4 and one of the tires is starting to balloon so the tape must of ripped inside
i used gorilla tape but only wrapped around once and overlapped about 1.5 inches |
