|
|
So I finally installed my XL tvps from 1offrc. ?Thanks Janeth... I also put on some extended axels and phaltline tires. ?
Yesterday I tried out 2 sets of batteries: ?1st was 8000mah 4s and 5200mah 6s from Maxamps. ?Yeah, I know no one likes them on this forum. ?I was running the truck on an asphalt parking lot and the first thing I noticed was the handling. ?If I went full throttle and made a hard right turn, I was unable to flip the truck over, it would practically drift on all 4 wheels. ?This is a huge difference from stock. ?With the 4S batteries, it did last an impressive 50 mins but it could not take a nitro savage x 4.6 in terms of top speed. ?The only hopup on the x was an hpi tuned pipe. ?It even had stock tires. ?The other thing I noticed was that I was unable to wheelie with the XL tvps and 4S batteries--the only thing I could attribute this to is the fact that asphalt had lots of debris and rocks from the snowstorms and heavy rains we had here in NJ. ?The other thing is that I had dropped the pinion from 25-20. ?
With the 6s, there was a significant difference in performance. ?There was so much power going to the wheels that it was difficult to get all that power to the ground. ?Even with the wheelspin and traction problems, the flux xl blew the savage x out of the water. It was however, difficult to control at anything above 3/4 throttle. Also, with the 6s, I was unable to wheelie but that was definitely because of the traction problems. ?Hopefully this weekend I can try it off road. ?

I've only run the tires once so far so I want to get some more time on it before I make a call. |

Looks Great... I really love the looks of those wheels and tire combination...
I'm having the same problem to much power at the high end with the 3S batterys, ain't it a shame ?
The added size really helps in the stability.
I went with Janeth's (1offrc.com) as well... Everything fit great no problems, no issues. I had my drill and dremel out and never needed them. She did a nice job on my kit.
Time to go and try to break some plastic... ? |

Thanks... No issues running the 2S packs with the 25T pinion? Just wondering though, what sort of issues would you run into? I was planning on going with a 23T since I run both 2s and 3s. |

| I run both also and not planning on switching gears back and forth... I need to get a IR temp reader so I can make some kind of smart changes by temps... I understand that is the only way to really set the gearing... |

@Billhere,
I was looking to purchase the Hyperion VX 5500mah 3S 35c/65c packs. Is that the exact model that you have? Do you or did you have any issues fitting it in the battery box? I'm being told that the dimensions are 163mm x 50.5mm x 32.5. After searching other forums, it seems like the battery box size is 208mm x 45mm x 35mm. Is this right? |

No problems on mine... It does spend more time in the air than on all fours... And quite a few VERY BAD landings (yep, I'm still learning to fly this cinder block)... |

| So with the extended chassis from 1offrc you can no longer do wheelies? I havent even recieved my flux yet, but was looking to purchase an extended chassis. 1offrc seems to be the only one in stock. But I probably would like to be able to do some wheelies. However i want to extend the chassis so it doesnt tip over as much. what are your thoughts. Thanks |

| extended tvps will not stop it from rolling over. to stop it from rolling over the extended axels from the savage xl and wide some offset rims. the xl axels plus sway bars makes it handle like a dream |

Also, im sure i will need to buy some tools but I dont know what tools yet. THanks |
