Hello everybody !
This is the new race savage which was born in France this year with a weight of 3.961Kg without body and nitro !
You will say... how does he make it ?
To know it... read this post and i’m sure you will understand why my friend Eric can make this project of a race savage.
Time to do it : (depend of your banker ) 3 month and 15days, because you need time and money... and sometimes bits aren’t in stock....
Let’s take place at the pictures :
The engine :
He used the stock engine : HPI K4.6 of the savage X SS kit
And he puts :
- rotostart backplate
- MGT vented flywheel
- Stock clutch shoes and arises
- Bling racing pilot nut
- HPI vented clutch 17T
- HPI engine mount option
- HPI low cg engine plate option
- Nova Race Pro "Cool Weather" Head
- Vantage racing exhaust pipe in-line
- Pro-Line air filter
The 2 speed transmission :
- savage X speed box
- derlin 48T spur gear
- Integy brake stopper alu
- Integy spur gear adaptor alu
- Integy carbon brake
- HPI titanium gear shaft
- HPI titanium idler shaft
- HPI titanium drive shaft
- HPI light weighy idler gear 29T
- HPI light weight drive gear 32T
- HPI aluminium drive gear 18-23T
- Aceracing bearing
The radio box :
- home made carbone plate 0.5mm
- Spektrum DX3.0
- Lipo regulator
- Lipo battery 800mah
- Hitec HS 5945
- HPI SF4
- Ofna servo linkage kit
- GPM alloy fuel valve mount
Chassis :
- HPI lcg tvp carbon fiber
- Aluminium screws
- Ofna 125cc fuel tank
- GPM alu motorhaltestrebe
Front an Rear :
- Vantage carbon arms
- HPI suspension conversion set
- HPI Hellfire shocks
- HPI hellfire caps alu
- HPI arm brace set carbon
- Savage X skid + shock tower + bulkhead
- Original diff
- Jdcarbon carbon fiber arm pins
- HPI 17mm hex hub conversion set with cvd dogbone
- Kyosho wheel 17mm hex
- Pro line crime fighter mt tires
- 3Racing titanium tire rod
- GPM Titanium hinge pin set
- GPM titanium tie rod black
And to finish the body... he doesn’t know yet what colour he will paint it like all people I think ! But here he wants somethings good but simple... not a lot of flamming or I don’t know what. Ohh I forget it...the body is HPI Dodge Charger !
It's wonderful no ?
And a few math to finish and see how the project is perfect for the moment :
His savage without nitro and body : 3.961 kg
His savage without nitro and body but with HPI cooling head : 3.990kg
His savage without nitro, body and wheel : 3.165 kg
His savage without body but with HPI cooling head and nitro : 4.096 kg
I think we couldn't make better for the weight for a savage...
He doesn't buy it but he think to buy HPI Phlatline tire and wheel... :
Other pics of the finish version :
And his family... you can say... HPI poweeerrrr !
And here you watch the video of the first fuel tank...

| That is a beautiful truck. Nice layout on the radio box and carbon cover. Almost too pretty to even get dirty.....I like the look of the anodized screws until they start falling out and you don't have any more to replace them....but Nice truck!! |
We can agree to disagree!!

Gorgeous! Beautiful! I love it. I think perhaps being a racer it should have some 40 series dish tires and low profile bow ties or similar, but apart from that it is stunning.
Great job!! Come back with some more videos when you get more fuel through it!! |

Hello all,
Thank you for your comments, my friend is happy that you like his savage
For the videos, my friend bought a camera but now he has to test it etc... and after that he will post good videos !
KiZ : my friend puts standart wheel and tires because the principal aim was to have the lightest savage for the best racing sav...
But he has to test it and see how the savage feels and regulate what isn't appropriate.
Don't forget, it's a project !
jlmoto : he has just doing the statics fuel tanks, so no prob for the moment with derlin gear
I don't understand what you say by "the tranny for like $40" ? You want to konw if he pays $40 for the spur gear ? Noo, just 5-10$ ! lol |

| there is a guy on ebay selling a set of gears only (not the whole trans) made of derlin for the transmission for about $40....I was wondering if they are worth it for the weight savings or stick with the steel for strength... |

| I was not impressed with HPI Land Rover Defeneder body. But it looks awesome on your truck. The colors you picked look alot better then the red hpi did |
