help 3 speed i think thats it??

so i ran the savage today and when it was about to change gear it keeps cutting out. could i have put the gear box together wong and if i have how can i tell with out taking it apart??

HSN is too lean. Richen it up 1/8th of a turn counter-clockwise and try it. Is it shifting at all? 1st to 2nd? 2nd to 3rd?

What do you mean cutting out? It doen't shift into 2nd or 3rd gear? I had the same problem !! As long as everything inside the gear box is moving smoothly its fixed properly! Take the tranny out to adjust the 2nd gear shift point - 3 and a half turns from fully closed (do not overtighten).... It worked for me ..... Hope this helps!!! Wink

no it not shifting the engine cuts out (stalls) and when i turn the spur gear it spins and then gets a bit tighter and then loose, that is with the wheels off the ground

could it be when it chages it jams thats why the engine stalls

If the engine is cutting out, you're not tuned right. What spur gear are you running?

52t is way too high t for a spur gear on a 3 speed. Most people with 3 speed run 49/17 or 47/16. Could be part of your problem, as well as the engine being tuned wrong.

ok i will get one soon when i push the car on the floor it makes a clicking sound from the gear box dose that mean any think??

i dont see how it could be my spur gear. i need some help i want it running today please can someone tell me. its making a clicking nose from the gear box when i push it forward and when it is running it wont change gear insted it stalls. could be that i have put the 3 speed together worng and then it changes it jams and thats why the engine stalls. what do you think, please pulling my hair out over this!

is the clicking noise the dual brake disc's aligning themselves as the car moves (pushed) mine makes a noise too and I think it is the brakes

no its not the bakes i dont think. i have taken the gear box apart and cant find anythink worng with it. i lost a dog bone to dont no if it snapped or dropped out cant find it any where. is there some where i can take my savage to get fixed i live in england near crawley. the car worked fine with the 2 speed but when i put the 3 speed in it didnt. even when i go slow and get up speed it still stalls. if i give it short bersts it runs fine wheeleys like *censored* just not getting any speed. i know i am being a pain i know its hard to say whats worng when your not there its just i love the bottem end power of the 3 speed wish i had the top end to Sad

i found the dog bone it was snapped in half that must have been the 52/15T lol
