Well i did it, got my LST shocks on my stock savage, no exstended TVPs, nova towers, no off set wheels etc.... and no holes drilled

was going to add this to the one in the FAQ section but i could not reply but i want to let you all know it can be done on a stock savage with some fiddling around abit

here is what i did to make it work Smile

First i made some mounting brackets to carry the shocks out, and away from the wheels

large view
here i just used the top and bottom screw holes on the plastic arms to hold the arm bracket in place

While i was at it, i decided to make my self some better shock stand offs didt take long made them out of stainles as i dont like idea of ally rubbing on ally realy, also for somethink abit different Wink

here is the front mounted up

shot of how well they clear

cant see it clearly in the pic but there is a nice bit of space there

The back was abit harder to try clear the exhaust header so i swoped my turn buckels to the other side and put my shocks on the back, made a little brackit up so i could use the two holes in top of the gearbox and this mounted the turnbuckels perfect
this is the mount, missing the two M4 holes in this one as was a spare i made

here is the hole truck mounted up

large view here

well there is how i mounted my LST shocks and the handaling is so mutch better i feel it was my money very well spent and i wouldt trade them for anythink Cool

Kudos

i cant rember the exsac price for the 4 shocks but i know i got them for under £10 per shock shiped to the UK. Picked them up from ebay but iv seen they are fetching a bit now though more people are wanting them.

yep navydocsavage the cnc mill was sitting empty and took a few minits to draw up on the PC, some ally angel plate would have done the job as good cut into shape though

Got mine from ebay as well. Look for a seller named mirahplanes. Got mine from him 25.00 usd per shock

Here's a link to a current auction

i hate u ppl with all your fancy machinery Mad just kidding. i had to make my bracket thingy's out of a piece of aluminum i got at home depot and cut it out with a dremel. broke about 15 cut off wheels and took a while to get perfect but yeah, it was worth it.
waiting to save up for some extended tvp's. maybe lowered a little too. and then some nova towers anyways. all that work for nothing

Hey, I'm with Haro, I work in a machine shop. Unfortunately we make bearings. AAAARRRRGGHHH all our cnc's are lathes. I've scrapped about a pound of aluminum tryin to make brackets. I wish there were shock towers that moved them out that far. That would be sweet!

I run 35 wieght oil in mt LST shocks.. Works great.. I will never run stock shocks after i saw the difference they made.. How coem you made the bottome brasket.. And are you useing stainless? 4mm 7075 is overkill, I can imagine the stainless..

Here is the alternative to the bottom bracket..?

i had 2 make the bottome bracket so i could clear the wheel, other while the spring would rub on fulll lock,

only stainles is on the shock standoff bit to replace that plastic one,

all brackets are 3mm Aluminium, 4mm would have been abit to on the thick side i think, and 3mm is holding up great, more testing 2morow though Cool

Yeah twisted, I was thinking like your original design in the other post, that would taper out to a 5" spread at the top. The pics you sent looked more like nova towers. I guess I'm thinking more like a stock shock tower with the bracket in it already. Do you follow me?
