When I turn the rear wheels on my 2350 by hand I feel there is more resistance than when turning the front wheels. Could it be I put too many shims on the rear?  Shimming the diffs was one of the very first things I did when I got my flux.

Maybe?

Was it smooth before? or has it always been stiff?

What did you fill the diff with when you shimmed it?

Maybe the stiff one is OK,,the other one might have leaked its fluid,,giving less resistance?

Only way to know for sure is open it up.

The front end doesn't seem to have signs of leakage.  Diff fluid is 50k front and 30k rear.  I'm going to open the rear diff soon as time permits.

If you over shimmed the diff cups, you would have had a hard time getting them into the bulkhead.  I know when I went with the recommended shims I couldn't get mine to sit right in the bulks and ended up having to take one out.

Oh I see.  Good to know. I remember when I put them in the bulkhead it went in easy.  But gonna check the diff anyways to make sure everything's good.

Something to check.  I did this, this is why I know.  When you put your skid plate back on there are two screws that bypass the plastic portion and just hold the aluminum to the bulkhead.  If these screws are too long, they go through the plastic and can touch your diff cups, which would keep them from spinning freely.  Check this.

Took me a bit to figure it out and then when I did, I felt like an idiot.  I put it all together, and as soon as it was I couldn't spin the tires very well.  Looked all over for something binding, took the plate off thinking something got in there...nothing.  Put it all back together, same thing.  Took it apart, and then started screwing things together and checking...that's when I figured it out.  Went with shorter screws and it was fine.  Doh!
