Seems like bigger generally means wider also...

Wider=more ground contact=more friction=engine works harder=warmer engine temps

But with more ground contact you get more stability.  I've got Proline Big Joe's and a friend of mine has just stock HPI tires/rims.  I've found that mine tends to roll less then his does.  It could be a lot of things, but I'd like to think it was the tires......and the driver skill level Rolling Eyes

Don't know if that helps your decision or not...

+1
Taller tires also mean your final gear to the ground is higher as compared to a smaller tire
And tires with a shorter sidewall will tend to have better handling characteristics while a bigger sidewall will have less but will really soak up crashes and large jumps much better

I was running the Dirt Bonz from stock and they are great all round tyres. I went with the Goliaths and i was running the F4.1 engine, the engine wouldnt even pick up the front end because they are so heavy. What engine are you running at the moment?

I've been using Trencher X's, Great all around tire with good contact patches geared towards hard surfaces.

As per Pep Boys rating system:
Good - high cut grass, loose dirt
Better -  low cut grass, packed Dirt
Best - Street and clay

Pep Boys sells Traxxas. They have waterproof XL-5 Stampede, Slash, and rustler. As well as replacement and upgrade parts.

I've got the Proline Trencher X's and I love them. I have them mounted on 1/2" offset wheels and the wider stance makes it much more stable. If you have any questions about them feel free to ask.

+1, i haven't been able to roll my savage on a turn ever since using the wider stance but the turning suffers just a tad bit. But then again, it's hard for any vehicle be it rc or irl to be able to roll with such a wide stance. My truck lands on top when I brake too hard or have my heavy trigger finger take over lol.
