I've been looking into a new exhaust for my savage X. I have an aftermarket one now I'm not sure of the make, starts with a G. Anyways I'm looking for a change. I love the look of the rear dual exhaust but I hear of the tuning nitemares, (key word "hear") I have no personal experience. I also hear the ribbed exhaust sounds pretty good as well, and last is the Ercm or Ecrm wich ever it is. I "hear" it is well worth the money but is a lillte pricey. the cost vs. performance issue is what I'm getting at. Everyone chime in I need your opinion! Or any other reccomendations are welcomed as well

Well, Of the three you mentioned, Rear dual, Ribbed, and ERCM. Your cost verse performance factor will best suit you with the ERCM.
Tis true the tuning nightmares of the rear dual exhaust, and one bad rear landing will destroy it being aluminum.
The Ribbed pipe does sound OK, and is LOUD from what I hear, but again, not a 'performance' tuned pipe.
The ERCM, well, I have 1, and another on the way. Not to mention my ERCM LRP.30, and the SH.28 he has for me. Not to mention its made of Stainless Steel, and tough as nails. But...there is a wait period. Its one man, creating them by hand, with a high demand
If the ERCM 221T is out of your price range, I would highly suggest waiting and saving. I would suggest either a JP3 or OFNA053 over the ribbed or dual pipe.
On the other hand, If you have a K5.9 I hear the CEN 7.7 pipe is a very good option.
But in my opinion, ERCM is the only way to go in this hobby, Engine Pipe or Otherwise.

There are many great pipes out there, but if you want the best mix of power, sound, and overall strength, look no further than the ERCM pipes. I destroyed multiple HPI composite pipes, and 3 HPI aluminum pipes, and I was sick of spending money on new pipes all the time. So I found ERCM and loved the fact that his are made out of stainless(virtually indestructible). I also liked the option of the endbleed pipe for my Savages so the stinger wasn't hanging off the side asking for rocks to kiss it all the time. I am happy to report that these pipes take a bloody beating.
So on top of the ultra strong pipe(last one you'll ever buy) you get the killer power and sound that'll surely *censored* your wife off when you are bashing in the back yard. These are the most powerful best pipes out there, hands down.
"Ohhh man I don't really want to shell out they many clams for a pipe!!" Look at it this way. You are going to spend maybe 75-85 bucks on a JP4 or something similar. So save up the extra dough for a week or two instead and get the ERCM bad boy. Last pipe you'll ever buy and you'll never regret it. Did I mention they look wicked too??

When I first got into this hobby and began looking at upgrades I thought over $100 for a pipe was crazy. I kept hearing about ERCM pipes and I finally bought one. They look sound and perform great. Its kind of like a Porsche, there is no substitute. Hand crafted, stainless steel, excellent quality I was glad I finally purchased one. In fact I have an end bleed on order now. You can visit his site and see videos of his products if you would like to see more. There is also a lot of ERCM related videos on YouTube.

Lafayette, Im not too far from you. Kenner La.
Pipes are all in what you want. The ERCM your asking about is the cream of the crop. Widest powerband and constructed of stainless steel, they are a permanent pipe.
As far as cheaper rtr pipes, the Ofna 086 is probably the best top end pipe and the 053 is probably the best low end.

The HPI pipes are trash.
I run the OFNA pipes I have a 053 and 086, and love them both. I have no personal experience with ERCM, but everyone that has one raves about them. If you have the cash to spend go ERCM if not get the Ofna pipe that is right for you. Another brand I've heard about but have no experience with is Dynamite, Ive heard of a few people running them, but ask around before you buy one of those.

HAHAHAAAA @ dodgedude.
On another note I bit the bullet and ordered an end bleed ercm today. One of the reasons I went with it was because of the performance aspect. Another reason is I saw where Someone was running an old school car body and the exhaust was coming thru the hood. Id like to know where to get the attachment for that!
Those are LST2 Shocks, and Raven Dual rate Springs, I powder coated them blue because I didn't like the Silver there. Took away from the rims and Silver Shock Towers (That's an old pic)

Just slide it over the pipes stinger. So it would look like the can is beside the pipe, but your stinger actually feeds into the can. Should give it a nice "Import" sounds

Hey another member from louisiana. Im from lake charles. Anyway, I went with the 086 pipe and then am turning around and getting the ercm. The verdic? I wasted money, although I will be able to use it on my next build.
