This is the second time I have lost power to the rearend. I had a stock rearend an switched it ti possy now that went out. What is the main cause of wrecking this?

What kind of upgrades would you all suggest?

I havent taken it apart yet but it is only front wheel drive. And the drive shaft is still in it.

Thanks for your help!

Open that baby up & find out why. Have you stripped your ring & pinion? Have you stripped your diff gears? Have you done the 4 bevel gear differential mod? Like CinnaBun said have you broke the grub screw? No offense, but the best way to learn how your truck works..is to work on it & troubleshoot problems.

I've just done exactly the same thing... Sad (No jump in sight!! was running around a parking lot doing wheelies). I've just replaced the 4 spider gears as all the teeth were gone!!! Had to rebuild the front dif about a month ago and replaced the dif oil with 30k and fronts been perfect so I'm going to try that in the back as well....

when you rebuild the diff you have to replace all the gears even the ones that are not broken and then break them in. Drive the truck slow for the first tank of gas after you rebuild the diff.

It was just missing a screw in the little deal that holds the drive shaft in.
