|
|
Ok guys, ive got a very serious problem here, my dad and i drove our cars at the track today, and we just got him a revo. Hes not very good right now, but when i drove it i was killin. Way faster than my racer savage , i want to do my best at trying to keep a savage: I have won some races in the LB Monster class, so i can handle the power:
what do ya think:
Savage 25 Haves:
Motor Saver air filter
40 Series bow ties
Spider diff mod in rear only
Hitec 645 servo for steering
Savage 25 Wants:
Stock shocksright now, but i think i will put 8 green springs with 20 wt all around with maybe 3/8" internal limiters??
247 pro motor or a fantom 27 motor: ( need more (top) and a little more bottom would be nice over the s 25???
Dual disk brake HPI
Cam type servo saver mod
What do you guys think of my soon to be mods??
Need info fast before my dad gets to comfortable with that revo
Thanx guys for ur input |

Save yourself some headache when installing the CAM servo saver and put an aluminium drag bar in with it. I snapped two plastic drag bars in two straight races this weekend just from bumping flexibale track piping. I used this drag bar to replace it and was able to finish the rest of my qualifiers and the main without a single problem.

Just FYI, the plastic drag bar is weak at the point that they have notched out so that the servo arms can rotate in them. |

Let me tell you Last Friday was the first time i seen a Revo run on a track and it looked real preatty but it didn't bring it. I ran him with my savage mach 26 and blew his paint off. Plus the Revo ended up breaking after his second tank.
Do the mods softer springs with limitors im running green and red spring combo 25wt front 35 back with 1/2 limitors
MP servo saver do the steering shaving mod at same time
Im also in the process of rebuilding my diffs so i can put diff oil 3000 front 7000 back it is suposed to improve handeling alot. I will let you know on Friday when i go back to my track. |

| a lot of people will try to steer you toward the mach .26 over teh XTM pro, but most people who have both will say the the pro is a little better engine all around. people probably wont like this post, but i'm going off unbiased opinions |

Well, what would you say about the fantom 27 against the 247 pro?
I hear the fantom has great top end, but i never hear anything about the bottom end. I need more bottom than the stocker by a lot. Does anyone know how much better the fantom is better than the xtm engines??? |

| i can't compare the pro to the fantom, but i can tell you that the pro will give you a huge increase all across the power band, you wouldn't be dissapointed one bit. |

i would say....kick that servo..and get some thing that isnt a hitec...and has good speed and around 200oz of torque....get some LCG tvps...lighten the truck up...and practice like crazy
That fantom .27 is a good motor BUT it has a turbo head..so its not reliable for racing, so if you can get a regular head it would be great |

| The GH single stinger pipe is killer on the 247 Pro, if you can find one. I have one on my 247 pro, and one on order for the 4.6. Don't know where they are in stock rite now. |

| They must be selling a bunch of these pipes, I got my 1st one about 8 months ago for 19.99 I think at tower. they raised the price 10.00 + out of stock. I have had 2 on back order now for about a month and the stock date keeps changing. |
