I have a savage x 4.6, and have recently noticed that the back shock tower move's back and forth a bit, its due to the pin that connects the chassis and the back bulk head together in the back of the truck. Is this okay? or should i get a new chassis? What chassis are good, im not looking to convert to an XL want to keep the same length the stock chassis is, just want to get something a little more durable for bashing purposes only. Im pretty sure that the stock chassis is 3mm thick, is there a chassis out there thicker then that? ive seen a video on TCS flux chassis do they have that for the savage x 4.6 aswell? what chassis do you guys think is a good upgrade for bashing only...

Stock I think is 2.5mm thick. FLM makes great TVPs in many lenghts but at 6mm thick. The have a bashers warentee. no matter how you bend it break it or whatever they will replace it for a fraction of the cost. But the problem you describe dosent even sound like a chassis problem.

no its not a chassis problem.. maybe you have some loose screws which just need tightening...
When upgrading your chassis.... it may not be necessary to go as thick as 5mm. (depends how hard you bash) but the TCS Tvps are 5mm and are extremelly strong but also a little heavier. |

i tightened all the screws but the problem was still there... so i took out the screws at the side back of the truck were the manifold is just below the pin that comes from the bulk head there was so much dirt stuck in it i cleaned it away and screwed it back in now its fine. The dirt fooled it felt very tight looked like nothing was wrong, because the screw was sitting on the dirt i even tired to tighten it but wasnt working untill i took it off... i usually tighten all the screws after each tank....

The back shock towers will always flex, sometimes piercing your fuel tank. It is definitely not a chassis problem, but if you want new basher TVP's go FLM LCG.

Sounds like the bulkheads are worn where the aluminum cross tube goes through. Take it apart and look. Tube should be snug in there.
