I like the mud guards, it would sure be nice to not always have the rear shocks covered in crap.

It sure looks good, BTW my revo is mostly stock and weighs under 9lbs race weight. Most likely the case is you are out driving people, the revo is pretty much a truggy with a slightly higher CG..ofcourse thats with the included p2 rockers and like $50 worth of mods.
Fully mod a savage like that with a better driver and you have a race with a mostly stock revo like mine with a pretty good driver like me..
I think that setting up a savage like that for racing is like taking a buggy and trying to set it up for on road racing, it can be done..
The only thing I did to add weight was put the trx wing on..everything else was pretty much removing stuff thats not needed for racing. I put on a pull start, tires, like $30 worth of CF, ported the engine, and changed the gearing from a 45+mph top speed to 40mph..I've got a flux and 3 nitro savages I'm just saying I would rather bash the savage then trying to turn it into a racer. My revo is totally different than my savages and sure it's not as tough but I'd put my revo up aganst any savage with under $100 worth of mods anyday and even a fully modded one like yours. If I got beat I would put my money on being out driven by the driver not the truck.
I think your savage looks SICK and I'm not bashing you in anyway, just a little venting I guess. Cheers and goodluck with the race season!! :D
P.S. one of the HUGE things that people don't relize about the revo and it's weight. I would guess that the #1 thing people say is it's lighter because it's not as tough..part of that is true but mostly it's not. The revo is lighter because the diffs are MUCH smaller with less gears, the tranny is smaller with plastic gears, shocks are about 1/2 the size, no shock towers, the bearings are smaller, there is no alum between the skids and diffs, its simply smaller with a smaller motor (yes less power), there is just less to it almost like a truggy with the diffs under the chassie and a larger 2 speed tranny.. |

| yea i know revos are more of a race truck stock, and it's probably, well actually definitely more cost effective to race a revo instead of a savage. btw your revo is pretty freakin awesome. but it is tons of fun to turn a savage into a racer. it can be a very good one too. there is a revo at my local track and my truck out handles, out accelerates, and beats it down the straight. but this is on road. you are right about the weight though, my truck weighs about 10 pounds vs under nine pounds. no competition there. so what i am trying to say here is that...well.....savages rule all |

I would get a set of 1/2in offset wheels such as the jconcept relux. I would also get a set of tripple rate springs along with some 25wt fluid and take the shock preload spacers out. I would also look into getting some thinner wt diff oil in the diffs such as 10,000wt front 5,000 wt rear. I would also take your roll cage off. That adds ALOT to the CG of your truck. Also look into getting some savage X TVP's . They have a lower CG then the old savage 25 tvp's. I know you said your on a budget. With this set-up your looking at $50 to $60 tops. You could also try to zip tie your a-arms to lower it.
$25 for the wheels
$15 for the TVP's
$8 2 bottles of 25wt shock oil
$10 for tripple rate springs |

| Take and loop a zip tie threw your a-arm then find somewhere sturdy on the truck to loop it around also. Push down on your truck to the desired ride height and then tighten the zip tie. I would also take the spring pre-load spacers off your shocks also so the spring won't be so tight. It will be like using limiter straps. Then you can set the desired ride height by tightening the zip tie. That is the cheapest way. The next cheapest would be some 1/2in offset wheels. I would go ahead and get some wheels. They REALLY make a HUGE difference. |

| to lower the truck i put fuel tubing inside of the shocks that would really help the handeling of your truck. and it's cheap. also i use ofset wheels and they don't give me any problems |
