Hard to know.......I'll have to find a 2wd designed FG, upgraded with a belt drive, to make it into a 4wd. Once I do, I'll take a video myself.
You are absolutely right about the 2WD vs 4WD, no doubt about it.....I think that is the purpose of the video is to demonstrate the 4WD advantage over 2WD in pulling power because of grip. That is the only reason I went for the MCD instead of BAJA or FG, because it will have better climbing and handling ability, I also got a good deal for it, as they are too expensive new. If I did not get this, I would have just got the Redcat Rampage of Carson/Titan. Anyway I had to go 4WD.
At the moment, I can't find any vids on it, so it'll be a great vid to make I guess. |

here is my list, it seems to keep growing
-factory team nitro tc3- rossi pixi black .12, foam tires, blade style front swaybar, version 2 suspention swap (i got the car just after it was first released). i used to race this thing till we lost our parking lot.
-super nitro rs4- got this in a trade years ago with no motor. put a .15t in it and a radio to sell to a friend that backed out of the deal so im stuck with it. has a 2 speed, carbon fiber deck, fiber disc brake.
-xray m18- carbon fiber chassis and top brace, ball diffs, novak spy esc, cant remember what motor, 6 cell 1100 packs
axial ax10- my latest project. integy chassis, 65t motor (swapping in a 35t tonight), 6 cell sub c, lrp runner plus esc (going to be changes, sucks for crawling).
-i also have 2 vintage electric cars i got given to me. iirc one is a fox and the other is a ninja. unsure what they are worth or how complete they are, but im gonna clean em up and shelf them. |

It's a rehab in itself. Has kept me off the barstool I wasted 10 years of my life sitting on everyday after work.
At one time someone went around the place and tried to count them all up. It was around 170 of them at that time. Almost all of the Nikko, Radio Shack, New Bright, etc. rcs have gone the way of ebay or neighborhood kids. Only have a few of the collectable ones hanging around now. Maybe 20 -25 of them. It wasn't hard collecting them, just popped into the second hand stores like Goodwill or Salvation Army. Most of them I picked up for less the 5.00 dollars. Rarely would I find one that had the controller with it though. That was the hard part, finding a controller that worked with a certain one. I had about 95% of them where they were runable with one controller or another. I got lucky on a few of the stops. Found a Tyco Turbo Bandit for 6.99 with a controller. Turned that one on ebay for 125.00 not too long ago.
I thought about not posting the pics of the toy grade rcs, but the last forum I posted them on everyone got a good kick out of it. I was suprised how many showed them to there spouses or parents in hopes of catching a break at home. Hopefully they will do some good for some of the members here also. |

That is a great story, thanks for sharing.
you have some skill modding stuff, new stuff I've never seen, or even heard of. Like the G1 tranny with LED's. I'd love to see more.
how well does the lexan rustler hold up?
I like how "the posse" has the same color skeem, looks good.
love the slayer body on the XL too, that might be my next body. |

The Nikko were fun in the beginning. Use to play tag with them out back on the RC ORV Park I made. If you watched the video of the Losi 8ight on the Crazy Train check out the back hillside. I pretty much dragged half of that down the hill so the Nikkos could make it up the incline. They didn't go fast so you had to try and fake the other guy out and make him/her miss tagging you. That how the track got started. I collected 6 of the Nikko Super Dictator 4wd buggies. They had the crystals so we could get band 1 - 6 going. Problem was I felt like the guy at the roller rink handing out and fixing skates the the whole time. It was a good time though to watch the fellows have fun with them. They can't believe the speeds of the RC I got now. Thankfully they aren't asking to run them. lol
I did adapt a few of the hard shells to fits some of the RCs. The hard plastics sound awful skidding down the road on it lid about 11pm at night. Really loud!
More picrs here:

I've tried to paint one body of the rc(s) with the posse scheme on it. The STRR this time came out of no where but the XL and the 8ights paint are in fashion for the posse.
Oh, the Body on the XL is a ProLine Desert Rat for the Slash. Little memory lapse. Here's a thread with more pictues of it I posted yesterday.

There were a couple versions of the polycarb rustler. The first was using 1/4" thick polycarb, it last a while even with me trying to break it. It busted the same place as where the stock rustler breaks. Right where the tranny connects to the larger part of the chassis. That's were all the ones I've busted have broken.
The second version (the one in the pics I posted) was made for 3/8" polycarb. Stronger, less flex, but heavier. Thats when I used the router to route grooves out of the bottom to lighten it up. This thread has some info on the wieghts and stuff.

Here's some threads about the polycarb rustler.

Heres a post with the first one I made
http://monster.traxxas.com/showpost.php?p=3018223&postcount=290
The arms I made for it. I tried to make them different. Give them some kind of attitude. They held up great. I busted one of the rears were they connect to the tranny when it was 10 degree F out. Most plastic and polycarb get pretty brittle at those temps. This chassis went through *censored* and kept coming back for more. Until one freak accident. I just got a new brushless motor to try out. I put it on and drove it out to the street with out any lid on it. Hit the throttle (not hard) but it flipped it right on it back so hard it snapped the chassis. Yep, right where every other one snapped. It was a fun project. I used the polycarb a lot to make things for the RCs. Made the tray for the STRR converson out it. The ESC tray on the 8ight is made so the controller sits lower. Made a motor mount for the DST out of it.
more pics here:
http://s212.photobucket.com/albums/cc316/GuyJor/013%20Kyosho%20DST/motor%20mount%202/
I basically copied Mikes motor mount from RC Monster and adapted it for the DST.
Chassis braces on the LS10 are made from it.
Oh, and the Gee1 Tranny I messed arouind with. It still working but I need to resolder the leads for teh LED again.
This thread detail the G1 Tranny for the emaxx and some different methods I tried out.

Here's a thread I put togetheron making the GEE1.

More picturers of it.
I did some modification to the stock rustler chassis I am using now. Added some lights to the chassis. It's all put together and working now but these are theonly pictures I have of it right now.
I put some leds in the old emaxx (now the stampede lid)
If your bored at work here a bunch of pictures to check out.

If you have a sense of humor and a little time. This is a thread I put together about my first Jato.

It was meant to find the lighter side of being a newb to nitro and get some laughs. Most of the guys figured that out and some didn't. I still find it funny but I usually laugh at my own jokes. Even before I say the punch line I am ROFL.
Okay one more. Here the workspace I put together for the RC hobby.
http://s212.photobucket.com/albums/cc316/GuyJor/work%20area/
Has a few little things I made to help a one handed person out. Said I didn't sit on a barstool anymore. Didn't say I lost the taste for certain beverages. |

If I had that many RCs my Mrs wouldn't just divorce me..............She would cheat on me, and make a video while doing it too.
Impressive collection, I'd have state of the art HOME alarm system, having that many investments and full comprehensive insurance as well. |
