rebuild, grease them up, and run them with a drill each way for around 5min each. open, degrease, regrease, rebuild, install.
it just removes all the imperfections from the gears and cleans them up a bit.
also, shimming your diff gears gives better diff life. |

| i think he means driving in a figure 8 pattern to mesh the gears propperly go in one direction for a few laps then go the other for a few. this causes the gears to mesh in good. i did that and didnt have a problem with my diffs. |

| Yes do what sicj said and Break them in doing Slow Figure 8's for a couple Tanks. I have never heard of the drill meathod, but it would probably work. |

| cmon break in your diffs? how and why would you have to do that, i mean it would be one thing to take it easy after a rebuild due to lack of confidence in ones mechanical apptitude but to break them in, never heard of such a break in... i find if i f disc my hard drive my diffs work better lol |

| If you dont break in your Diffs, the internal gears cannot properly seat themsleves, and you will wear them out faster. |

I'm a little curious as to how you break in the diffs as well. Does that mean just running it flat land for a while to sort of heat treat em or what? little jumps first? Seriously though Ihaven't had any problems since I quit pinning the throttle when landing jumps and I've been flat landing the thing on pavement from 15 feet plus of air. Still blows my mind!!!!!!!! |
