i've heard nothing but bad things about CVDs. something about the pins always falling out...

stay away from the CVDs
I got them and had to replace to many pins... the pins always ended the day for me...
I upgraded to HD cups and dogbones and not a problem since...

If you use the CVDs you will need to notch the pins so that the set screw has something to hold... some people say to lock tite the set screws but I don't care how much locktite you use that pin is coming out...

I agree. I just put the HD drive cups on Savage #2 last night. Those combined with HD dogbones and White Lightning lubricant there is virtually no slop in the drivetrain. If you must go with the CVDs, I would get the MIP.

I got the same opinion as above. My bro went through a set of GPM ones and a friend used the ones by Hotbodies and those were junk as well. I got the HD cups and dogbones and I am the only without problems. I dont think it is a Manufacturer thing, it is the whole idea of a CVD.
