i play around in a pit alot and do some pretty good sized sand climbs and from the looks of the videos the savage dosnt seem that great at it. is this true and if so whats it take to get up to parr. i currently run a revo but im tired of the trx motors and all the tunning plus plastic parts and i know from alot of friends the savage is tough as nails.      looking at the savage x ss as thats what my budget can take for now. thanks in advance to all

It might climb a little better if you put thick oil in the front and rear diffs.
It would help all 4 wheels hook up a little more.
I have seen people fill the diffs with jb weld so all 4 wheels are locked to spin all the time.
The disadvantage to the jbweld is that the truck will hop in tight turns

I need some pits like that too! Laughing  Laughing

Instead of JB welding your diffs you could use this.

Mr Snuggles at one time had a BP diff in the front and Hardened diff in the back, Or vise versa. Basically he had the front diff lower geared to grab more than the rear.
Bu a longer chassis and weight up front will definitely help you

look into anything you can find about formula off road(foff). its more of a crawler thing.
are you looking to climb the hills or jump em?

iv never build a foff car,but from what iv read about em everyone seems to be spot on
search youtube for rc foff
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqVz5BHxfBY&feature=related

or check out some crawler message boards, alot of those guy specialize in building foff trucks.(not trying to take anything from SC,just trying to help the OP best i can)

My CF FluXL LOVES dirt hills. I don't even need paddles, just my Mulchers and up she goes without a sweat!
