| I just recently purchased a savage flux , i was getting board of everything else i owned , my last 3 cars were a slash 4x4 platinum ed. , caster racing fusion ex1 and i just sold my hpi vorza. I have had many other cars but those are just my most recent. Anyway i cant really go to the track much anymore so i decided to buy myself the ultimate basher. Picked up a savage flux and i luv the thing. It is massive and pretty well built for a rtr , there are some things they could have done better but overall it is a sick truck. I got the newest version with the 2.4ghz even though i am selling that. I just put on the tcs 5mm chassis and made a homemade center skid plate bc i couldnt find anything out there that would fit the flux , if anyone knows of anything please let me know? , Are there any mod's i should be looking at ? Id like a better set of wheels and tires pref. in black , i heard if i get 1/2 offset wheels it will widen the savage ? Anyway so far so good and ill try and get some pic's up soon , only other problem is i hear something inside my center diff that is rattling around , dont really feel like talking the diff apart yet so if something breaks it should be warrantied but still this shouldnt happen with a brand new $600 truck... |

welcome to the forums..
you will prob want to do the shock mod, other then that its kinda up to how you drive the truck !
yes the rims will make it 1in wider and that will help with it fliping on its side.
also mt's have a tranny not a center diff just a heads up |

Im guessing the "rattling" is just the metal spur & pinion, it sounds kinda funny at first, takes some getting used to.
If you went to be sure you can open the tranny by removing 3 screws on top of tranny, its very easy.
Your diffs should be BP already,You might check them to assure the are properly shimmed.
The bigbores are great shocks, tough too.
TCS tvp's are great too, almost Everyone is running them on their flux, I have the extended version.
FLM makes a skid plate to fit their TVP's, But with some modding it will work.
Start doing some research on the flux,
Use the search feature here, Plenty of reading material.
You need to understand how,, what battery,, with what tires,, with what gearing, These all can be changed, and some combinations can destroy your ESC,,,,,,do your homework

RPM Stablemaxx Revolver wheels + Proline Badland tires should do the trick.
I finally got my EX-1 running...slick buggy but I really don't see myself using it anywhere but the track, so for bashing the Savage Flux is the ticket.
Savage Flux handles quite a bit better with the wheel/tire combo I mentioned above if you are keeping it on the dirt. ?I've got the TCS 5mm chassis as well but eventually I want to go XL.
Out of curiosity, which did you like better for the track..EX-1 or Vorza? |

Must be a beast, a friend have a Kyosho GT with the MMM 2200KV and the car at 6S is hitting 72mph using a 20 or 22 pinion, the ratio calculator says that the car can hit 90+MPH with the 25 pinion we use exactly use the HPI pinion in that car and the car accelerated like a Nissan GT-R. The amazing thing of that type of setup that is not a speed pass or a drag ca, the car still a circuit car. |

thanks for all the replies guy's , what is the shock mod ? , Ill def. check those wheels out ?. I luved the vorza and my caster ex1 , the ex1 was way to powerfull , i was running it on a mmm and 2650 neu motor , on 4s it was crazy , it was built pretty well but i kinda liked the whole layout of the vorza better , the way the battery tray was designed on the vorza was way better than the caster. The handling kinda felt the same to me on both , it was hard to tell as i didnt drive the caster that much but i did have a great futaba s9352 servo in the caster and the vorza was just using the stock . The shocks that the vorza comes with are allot better then the ones the flux came with , i found the vorza was def. a better basher than the fusion , they were both great cars for the track and you cant go wrong with either 1 , just get some big bore threaded shocks for the caster and you should be good. I cant really say 100% what was better for the track bc i didnt have much track time with the caster. Not really crazy about those rpm wheels , how are the maximizer beadlocks , anyone have any experiance with these or teh jconcepts rulux, i am just looking for a nice black rim and good tires for bashing and ocassional onroad that wont kill the wallet , rims must be black also or white and i can just dye them ... Heres some pics of them -

I ended up getting rid of all of them and now i am just sticking with the savage , great truck so far , do you think i will benifet by putting a jr z650m as upposed to the stock servo or will it not make much of a difference bc i have a brand new one sitting in my tool box? |

I haven't experienced that issue. These wheels shattered or cracked on you? Temperature-related?
Tell me more, because so far I'm quite satisfied with these, but then I have pretty limited runs under conditions that might be different from you. Maybe I'm not stressing these as much as you have. |

| You can run the XL outer stub axles to get more width on your truck if you have stock wheels or 0 offset wheels. Another trick I've learned is to put a big plastic zip-tie around your front and rear bumper mounts to keep them from flexing out and losing your hingepins!!! Good idea on making your own skidplate, thats something I need to do. I have already cracked a trans case. |
