Yup, it will always remain a little oily but the smell will lessen. Just don't go sniffing your electronics!
I usually just make sure it's not dripping anymore, then it's good to go. |

| By the way, some light wiping off is fine, once it's on there, you're not going to get it off anytime soon. |

Just ordered mine - looks like good insurance.
That demo was amazing.
I think i'll resist the urge to submerge mine in water to test it though! |

Yeah, that's how I felt, but I figured I was praising this product SOOOO much that I had better check it on my own gear before I started telling the world how great it is. I didn't want to be the guy responsible for blowing everyones ESC! LoL. |

Core, GSGA and anyone else that ordered/ or plans to order corrosionX:
Don't forget to use this stuff on all your bearings (including your steering if you've upgraded your bushings), TVP's, Dogbones, Diffcups, and any other part of your RC that's metal. This will ensure that your RC never becomes locked up from rust. If you ever HAD any rusty bearings or electronics that stopped working due to water exposure, there's a good chance CorrosionX can revive it! I haven't had any electronics that have failed that I can say it brought back to life (never had to) but there are reports from the airplane guys bringing back ESC's from the dead!
ALSO, I've found if you take a rag with a little (With MAJOR EMPHASIS ON LITTLE) CorrosionX on it and rub it on your lexan body it will GREATLY reduce the look of scratches and road rash as well as give it a nice shiney look(though it will be a little oily feeling)! I also use it on all my hard plastics (bumper, diff case, A-arms, anything exposed to dirt as it will make the dirt and gunk just fall off when you brush it. I've never used it on a nitro, but I'd imagine it would make them SO much easier to clean. That was another complaint I had about nitro. I'd love to hear the results on having to clean a nitro after this stuff was applied.
Anyway, I hope this info is useful! |

| I assume it stays at least a bit wet.or dries with a thin finish to protect. The corrosion block product stays wet and mine has plundered thru puddles of puddles so far |

Yup, it just seems like it's slightly oily and it stays like that FOREVER. Well, maybe not forever, but a very, very long time hence "1 to 2 applications a year should do you".
@Casper06, glad to hear you ordered some! make sure you treat all your metal parts, that way your bearing will never rust frozen! |

| Using it on plastic? Like just a light coating or do you dunk that as well? It would kind of be annoying to try and get it on every single nook and cranny on some of those pieces. |

As far as plastic goes, I just use a rag with a small amount of it on and wipe your commonly dirty surfaces. Battery boxes, radio cover, A-arms, nothing as serious as dunking, just a good wipe. Same goes with your lexan body, just don't put it on any surface you'd ever like to put stickers on again. It hasn't peeled off my existing decals yet, but the key is to barely use ANY corrosionX on the rag. A little of this stuff goes a LONG way. |

I've just received mine yesterday and i've thought of another use for it -
Wouldn't this stuff make the best after run oil ever?
After all it appears that it'll lift off rust so even if you've forgotten and left your engine for a while, a shot of this would get rid of anything that's starting to form.
Anyone think of a downside? |

X2
Yes, I was thinking that this stuff should be the best after run oil on the planet! With it's anti corrosion ability as well as being a great lubricant I can't see any reason why you wouldn't want to use it as after run oil! I would totally use it if i didn't sell my nitro to get my Flux. :D
@Trancer and anyone else that purchased CorrosionX:
I find that if you don't wash your rags seperate from everything else, you may end up with CorrosionX scented clothing which totally sucks, so, yeah. Heed my warning, this stuff penetrates into EVERYTHING.
I did notice once all my bearings were treated that it seemed to roll smoother and farther on a hand push. Maybe that's just my imagination though. |

Did mine today, (also servo, RX and dogbones) I used aerosol. Shouldn't be a problem since it uses POLAR BONDING TECHNOLOGY!!!111 and it instantly grips to the surface so you don't have to dunk it.
This is after a 15min drift run on 1cm of fluffy snow on the parking lot: (not waterproofed yet)

That sucks bad Trancer. That must have been a *censored* of a jump or one epic awkward landing! So the solder came away on the deans plug? I've heard of ESC's blowing when one lead of the battery gets removed, but that just sucks that you've officially fried 3 of them.
I've never owned one personally, but I've heard great things from Tekin ESC's. I don't know if they're any tougher than Castle's though.
@V0RTEX Did frosty the snow man take a dump on your flux?!? |

Vortex, I'm looking at the pic of your Flux, noticing you have Traxxas plugs instead of deans, but also noticed that you can see the exposed wire in between the Traxxas connector and the wire to the ESC itself. I would treat that with CorX as well, or maybe liquid tape it or something. It would probably be just fine (*censored*, this is post run, pre CorX with no problems) but better safe than sorry!
Also, don't forget those bearings. if you don't treat them you'll end up with a super squeaky flux! |
