I did get a Roto-Start for it, but I do prefer pullstart for the reason that you don't have to carry extra batts and the starting wand around all the time.

I have already broken the factory pullstart for the Picco, and I haven't even got a full tank through it yet! It seems that the hex doesn't engage the pullstart enough and may be putting a side load on the pullstart causing an uneven load on the spool, making the spool break. I would think that about 3-5 mm of spacers on the hex may allow the pullstart to take the load better and last a little longer.

Need more money! Can't keep up with the Jones' !!!

Keep your old .21bb engines for fun and just get a Force .25 from ultimate hobbies for $109. The S.25 has almost identical output figures and the Force is a tried and true rock solid performer. Sending your old engine and $100 dollars PLUS shipping is a horrible deal when you consider the Force at $109. I'm of the opinion that the S-25 is nothing but a primped and polished Force 25 anyway. Thats my opinion.

i saw this in the HPI forums on the S-25. It has a little more HP than the force 25 w/ composite carb and a better heatsink.

Size: .25
Horsepower: 2.5 @ 29,000
Maximum RPM: 38,000
Heatsink Head: Machined Billet Aluminum (purple anodized)
Case: Black Heatsink Coating
Carburetor: Composite
Carb Adjustments: High and Low
Connecting Rod: Dual Bushing
Construction: ABC

The S-25 engine is manufactured for us by Force to our specifications. There are significant differences between the S-25 and the Force 25. Most notable are: billet aluminum head, composite carb, dual con-rod bushings. That means the S-25 will have better cooling, better hot-temp performance, easier hot-temp restarting, and longer con-rod life. We have also simplified the carb by eliminating the Mid-Speed needle for easier tuning.

The engine exchange program for the S-25 will begin in the middle of September.

NOTE: All manufacturers test their engines differently so it is almost meaningless to compare numbers between brands. HPI relies on the engine manufacturer to give us the ratings.

Only down side to the Picco is the garbage pullstart they put on it, from what I have heard. I will be starting breakin on it today.

Arrow Yes, the string is under size for a large engine, but as long as you don't pull it over 12 inches you'll be fine, I've got mine for a while now and I don't have a problem with it.

i've read all the posts about the wasp and picco but if they are the same engine, why is the wasp cheaper?!?!? i saw it for 154 when the picco is 189. I went to a store today and they said 1 mth for the picco, 4 days for the wasp.
