| You can't buy them complete. You have to get ones that were taken off a truck. They are one of the best mods that I have done so far. |

| I was just looking around and I am going to have to buy some lower mounting brackets like kudos has. They are needed with non-offset wheels. |

Ok, well in order to run stock size tires and wheels you need to put the shocks up a little on the a-arm. I even put a nut on the other side of the a-arm for extra strength. Here is a pic of before and a couple after.
Stock holes
Raised holes
This is the steering at full lock.
And the truck still have as much or more travel than stock.

Seriously us Monster truck guys are a whole other breed, bigger is better..... might not win too many races with that philosophy but who cares? We envy the guy with the bigger more powerful engine, not the joker that TQ'd for the main! |

I got the mount from twisted. They are really cool too. I drilled 2 holes in the lower a-arms and then put a nut on the other end of it. That really makes for good security. The fact that you are mounthing it to the plastic drives prices down and makes it more durable. |

I got the upper mount from twisted-toys. It is carbon fiber and is the tuffest material I have seen. It the stuff vertigo uses.
I think that you might need stiffer shocks if your going to do any sereous jumping but that's about it. All you need is the uppermount and I used some large collets for bottom spacer. (The collets are the linkage things that have little screws so you can stop them on the shaft but they are bigger ones.) |

| With the shocks straight up and down does it mees with the geometry of the suspension? It seems to me it would act like a pogo stick. |

On the LST the shocks are almost verticle which provides a linear spring rate.
So with these shock tower brackets, we're trying to mimic the angle of the shocks like it is on the LST.
If you try to mount the shocks like a Savage shock in the stock holes the springs are waaay to soft to support the truck, and the spring rate then has become progressive. |
