I live in Lafayette, these are the 3 top offroad tracks in Louisiana

http://www.krazykajunraceway.com/

http://www.tricityrc.com/

http://www.southcypressspeedway.com/

I race at Krazykajun the first 3 saturdays of the month, usually about 40 racers ( 20-25) are monster trucks, very high calliber track , come check it out, probably about an hour and a half drive for you.

Thanks man I knew about the one in Chalmette, all the guys from the hobby shop talk about it. I'm just getting into the race thing. Anything special I need to do to race at these tracks? Like radio or any thing?

Not really, If you have an am radio it will be hard to practice , someone else will probably have your channel, but they move people around so theres no conflict during a race , bowtie 40 tires hook up good on our track.
Every Fridy night lights are turned on for practice ( usually drinking beer and talking trash obout each others trucks)
Races start at 6:00, theres food and drinks for sale
Thers 3 classes of monster truck ( for the races)
(1) novice

(2) outlaw

(3) unlimited

If you don't mind the drive, come check us out, ask for James, i'm one of the few people left racing a savage

Most of the people that used to race savages have bought revos, There are only a few diehard savage racers left (at our track), but the savages are still dominating the track
The classes have changed as of last weekend

Novice

stock mod/outlaw ( those 2 classes are combined now)

Unlimited ( Lightning's , one Unlimited Enginering Razor, truggy's and sad to say, if you have LCG TVP's (savage) you will run in that class with the big dogs.)

I did get your PM and PM'd you back with some links ( did you get it)

Like i said above, the few savages ( about 7 or Cool that are racing are beating the revo's on a regular basis
I've overheard several ex-savage owners mentioning that they wish they would not have sold there savage.

They let me run in stock mod because i hav'nt raced in a while ( bought a new house) but i usually stop by the races to see whats happening.

Sooner or later i will have to run in the Unlimited class, And it pains me to admit it, but a Savage is no match for a Lightning. Even on my best day i don't see it happening.

Hey 13 where do you go to the levee. I live in Metairie. Went out to Chalmette once to check it out, but no one was racing MT's that day.

Which LHS do you go to?

I'm in Kenner 5min from treasure chest. Check out Academy's parking lot on Thursday nights from about 8 till midnightish.

My schedule has been crazy lately because I'm in training for the rail road, but shoot me a pm when you go.

Yeah hopefuly my engine is back from HPI. I called today and verified that it had arrived and was sitting on the shelf. Mine is just waiting in line to see what they are going to do with it.

Anyone ever thought about the Spillway? Me and my dad go their to ride four wheelers. Best time to go there is on a weekday because no one is there and they have a small atv and a small dirtbike track for kids that would be fun to bash on they have more spots but that one is next to the parking lot and is not along walk. But if you have a four wheeler to haul stuff around on you could go to difrent parts of the spillway (if you get board on the kiddie track). And its free to ride there just a thought thought i had.

I actually forgot about the spillway. Haven't been there to ride bikes since I was a teenager.
You're right weekdays would be pretty good to go out there too.

There has to be more places we could go to bash that aren't an hour drive away.
